Thanksgiving Break Work
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you have a relaxing break from school. There are a couple of things you may want to consider doing this week in preparation for your return to school and the mad-dash towards final exams.
1) Finish your Serf vs. Homeless Essay: Remember, this counts as part of your Final Exam score for this class.
2) Catch up on unfinished assignments: Check Zangle for missing work, get it done, and turn it in.
3) Work on your Interactive Notebook for this unit: You will be turning in your INB during the week you return to school, so take this time to make sure all of your notes are complete, left-side questions are done, and summaries written.
4) Do some EXTRA CREDIT!!!!!:

4) Do some EXTRA CREDIT!!!!!:
- The Manor as a Cell (30 points max): Read Chapter 9, Lesson 2 and do a little research about what you would find on a typical manor in the Middle Ages. Then think about the organelles in a plant or animal cell and create a poster that explains the similarities (by way of analogy) between a medieval manor and a plant or animal cell. You could draw your own manor and then create analogies next to the details (draw a knight in your manor and then write a knight is like the cell membrane because both control what goes in and out) or (the fields are like the chloroplasts because both are where food is made). INCLUDE AT LEAST 8 ANALOGIES IN YOUR COMPARISON.
- Cultural Plunge:(50 points max) Read and complete the requirements listed in the activity guide provided.
- Did Robin Hood Exist? (20 points): Follow the directions on this PDF file of a presentation -- weigh the evidence surrounding the character Robin Hood and sum it up by writing an 11-Sentence Commentary. You will be turning in your evidence pre-work and 11-Sentence Commentary.
- NEWS Article (20 points): Find a current events article in the newspaper or on the web that deals with Europe, the Middle East, or both. Read the article and then create and fill in a graphic organizer like the one shown below. Attach the article to your organizer.
